Not because they are the most important — though several are — but because they make the mission legible: cinema that trusts its audience, takes genuine creative risks, and does not apologise for being strange. Everything Everywhere is the entry point. Hereditary is for people who think horror cannot be art. Lady Bird is for everyone else.
